Velyvelo is a last-mile delivery bike solution provider offering e-bike rentals and repair services tailored for delivery professionals. To gain both cost and leadtime advantages, Velyvelo has decided to develop its own line of e-bikes in 2020, expanding its brand portfolio beyond simply purchasing e-bikes from other manufacturers.
About the product
Crafted for Comfort, Built for the Senses
The Q’Be Electric Assist Bike Collection is purpose-built for delivery professionals, combining performance, durability, and practicality. Each year, Velyvelo launches a new generation of the Q’Be to meet the evolving needs of urban delivery.
The Q’Be Gen 3 is more powerful and robust than ever. It features a 60 km range, an integrated USB charging port, and a high payload capacity of up to 160 kg — making it the ideal companion for demanding delivery routes.
Challenges
Engineering Precision
Meets Aesthetic Perfection
In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, France experienced frequent lockdowns. During these periods, only food delivery professionals were allowed to move freely within cities. This led to an explosive growth in the food delivery industry, with many new companies entering the market. Thanks to its unique operational model, Velyvelo quickly gained the trust of leading food delivery platforms.
However, the surge in demand came with significant supply chain challenges. Global e-bike production capacity was severely limited at the time. Clients made it a condition of partnership that Velyvelo be able to supply enough bikes to support their operations. Yet factories in Europe and Taiwan were facing production lead times of up to two years, and major brands in mainland China required at least 7 to 12 months for delivery.
Velyvelo, on the other hand, urgently needed to ship its first batch of bikes from China within just 70 days. At this critical moment, their original supplier was unable to deliver even a sample.
Solutions
Collaborative Innovation and Craftsmanship at Scale
To tackle the supply chain challenges, Velyvelo partnered with PICCA, entrusting the full scope of procurement and project management to them. Recognizing that critical e-bike components—such as battery packs, motors, tires, and controllers—require a high degree of reliability, PICCA made a strategic shift from relying on a single supplier to taking full control of the production process.
Leveraging its deep expertise in manufacturing and a broad network of trusted suppliers across China, PICCA independently managed component sourcing and coordinated the assembly process. This agile and proactive approach allowed them to drastically reduce lead times while maintaining strict quality standards.

PICCA successfully delivered the first batch of Q’BE GEN 1 bikes within the tight 70-day deadline, enabling Velyvelo to meet urgent client demands and strengthening its position as a reliable partner in the fast-paced delivery industry.
